We are here to help you move forward with clarity and renewed confidence. We encourage you to schedule a confidential consultation so we can discuss your specific situation and how we can support you through this process.
About Me
I earned my Master’s in Social Work from Arizona State University. I am a LCSW-Supervisor in the State of Texas. I have been in private practice since 2016 and have also worked in the mental health field in hospital, agency, and government settings from 2007-2021.
The focus of my private practice work has been with a variety of ages including children in play therapy, activity therapy, adolescents, and individual, group, and family counseling. Most of my experience is in the areas of abuse and trauma, addiction recovery, forensic/legal issues, sex-trafficking survivors, inappropriate boundaries, stressful life events, and mental health disorders.
I have experience supervising student interns, as well as supervising staff members at various agencies. I also currently supervise LMSW therapists at my group practice agency. I look forward to the opportunity to walk alongside you as you journey into clinical licensure.

FAQs
-
Probated license supervision is a specific type of oversight required by the Texas Behavioral Health Executive Council (BHEC) when a social worker's license has been placed on probation due to a disciplinary action. It allows the social worker to continue practicing under strict conditions and expert guidance to ensure public safety and address areas of concern.
-
This supervision is mandated for social workers (LBSW, LMSW, LCSW) whose licenses have been disciplined by the Texas State Board of Social Worker Examiners (part of BHEC) and have been issued a probationary order.
-
As a Council-approved supervisor with over two years of experience in this specialized area, my role is to provide rigorous, structured oversight. This includes ensuring the supervisee's full compliance with their probation order, monitoring their practice, facilitating ethical decision-making, and fostering professional growth. I submit regular reports to the BHEC detailing the supervisee's progress and adherence to all requirements.
-
The duration of supervision is determined by the Texas State Board of Social Worker Examiners as part of the individual's probation order. It can vary depending on the nature of the disciplinary action and the progress made by the supervisee, often lasting for a specified number of months or years.
-
Yes, direct communication with the Texas Behavioral Health Executive Council (BHEC) is a mandatory part of this role. I am required to submit regular written reports to the Board and may need to communicate with Board staff as necessary regarding your progress and compliance.
-
Generally, yes, communication with your employer is typically a necessary part of probated license supervision. This is often a requirement from the Texas Behavioral Health Executive Council (BHEC) and is crucial for effective oversight. Understanding your work environment, job duties, and how the terms of your probation are being met in your practice setting is essential for accurate supervision and reporting to the Board. Any such communication would, of course, be handled professionally and with your awareness, aligning with your Board order.

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in Texas and am a Council-approved supervisor with the Texas Behavioral Health Executive Council. I have provided dedicated supervision for probated social work licenses for over two years, giving me specific expertise in Board requirements, ethical remediation, and the unique challenges faced by social workers under probation.
-
Yes, it is distinctly different. While both involve licensed supervision, probated license supervision is a disciplinary requirement focused on remediation and compliance with a Board order, whereas supervision for licensure is about accruing hours and developing clinical competency towards an advanced license.
-
To be a clinical supervisor requires significant training, as well as specific liabilities associated with being your supervisor. Providing supervision for a probated social work license is a specialized and demanding service, which is why there's a fee for it.
This isn't like regular supervision; it requires deep knowledge of Texas's Board rules, strict oversight, and detailed reporting to the Texas Behavioral Health Executive Council (BHEC). The fee covers the significant time, expertise, and high level of accountability involved in guiding a social worker through their probation successfully, ensuring public safety and professional growth.
-
The process typically begins with an initial consultation to discuss your specific probation order and supervisory needs. We would then develop a comprehensive supervision plan tailored to your Board requirements, which would be submitted to the BHEC for approval. Once approved, we would commence regular supervision sessions as mandated.
